Ao6 senior policy officer & ao7 principal policy officer

We are seeking experienced policy professionals to join a team responsible for the development, conversion and implementation of operational policies and practice guidelines within a complex service delivery environment. Both roles contribute to evidence-based policy development and support consistent, high-quality service delivery. These roles suit individuals who are analytical, organised and comfortable working in fast-paced environments with competing priorities and evolving policy contexts.

AO7 Principal Policy Officer Key responsibilities
* Lead and manage operational policy projects through to implementation.
* Develop operational policies and practice guidelines to guide consistent service delivery.
* Undertake complex research and analysis to inform policy reform and decision-making.
* Provide high-level policy advice on the operational impacts of proposed reforms.
* Liaise and consult with internal and external stakeholders, including statutory bodies, government departments, non-government organisations and community groups.
* Develop strategies to support effective implementation of policy changes.
* Draft high-quality written materials, including policies, practice guidelines, submissions, reports, proposals, fact sheets and internal communications.
* Exercise sound judgement to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within required timeframes.
* Monitor, manage and report on project progress, risks and issues to ensure successful outcomes.
Skills and capabilities
* Demonstrated experience leading complex policy projects.
* Advanced research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Exceptional written communication skills, producing clear, concise and well-structured documents.
* Strong ability to work effectively in ambiguous or evolving policy environments.
* Proven stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust and credibility.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
AO6 Senior Policy Officer Key responsibilities
* Undertake research and analysis to support evidence-based policy development.
* Develop operational policies and practice guidelines in line with agreed frameworks and standards.
* Liaise and consult with internal stakeholders to provide policy advice and support implementation.
* Draft clear, concise and high-quality written materials, including policies, practice guidelines, submissions, reports, reports, fact sheets and internal communications.
* Manage competing priorities and deliver work within agreed timeframes.
* Contribute to monitoring and reporting on project progress, risks and issues.
Skills and capabilities
* Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
* High-quality written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
* Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
* Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
* Confidence engaging with stakeholders and contributing to shared outcomes.
Wellbeing and Resilience

The nature of this work may involve exposure to distressing or confronting material and engagement with individuals who have experienced trauma or have been involved with the justice system. A range of physical and psychosocial safety measures are in place, including access to wellbeing supports and an employee assistance program. * Full-time business hours Monday to Friday
* Close to public transport
* Assignment through to th June 6 with view to extension
