About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager - Finance, the Payroll Manager position is accountable for overseeing the Payroll team to provide effective, accurate and effective services. This includes the development and maintenance of leading practice payroll and reporting processes and procedures with a focus on upholding industrial and legislative compliance and requirements.
You will manage a team of three and play a hands-on role in developing capability, driving process improvement, and ensuring compliance with all legislative and industrial requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the end-to-end payroll function for a multi-site workplace.
Ensure accurate and timely payments, superannuation, PAYG, and other statutory obligations.
Interpret Industrial Agreements such as awards, certified agreements, contracts of employment etc
Partner with HR to ensure alignment between HR and payroll systems.
Implement process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure stakeholders receive timely and accurate financial and employee information to make business decisions
Develop, mentor, and support your team to achieve high performance.
About you
Successful management and oversight of Payroll Team processes and outcomes
Qualification in payroll management or equivalent work experience
Sound understanding of relevant statutory requirements at state and federal level (ATO, Workcover, Payroll Tax etc)
Experience in month end and year end processes
Experience in using electronic timekeeping and HR, IS systems
Experience in Kronos and Chris systems (desirable)
Experience in Pharmacy and Retail environment (desirable)
