The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Senior Payroll Officer to join our Belmont Office and support a team of 5 with end-to-end payroll processing.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Senior Payroll Officer's responsibilities will include:
End-to-end payroll processing, including setup, maintenance, and quality assurance
Interpret payroll policies and ensure accurate application
Provide guidance, training, and support to payroll team members
Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll enquiries (internal & external stakeholders)
Deliver accurate and timely payroll reporting, including statutory and regulatory requirements
Lead and resolve payroll issues and discrepancies
Analyse payroll trends and variances, with investigation and commentary
Maintain payroll records and ensure strong data integrity and confidentiality controls
Ensure payroll compliance with internal controls and external standards
Support internal and external payroll audits
About You
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Minimum 5 years prior experience in end-to-end payroll processing with high volume, blue and white-collar employees (essential).
Strong understanding of legislation, taxation and superannuation related to payroll processing activities.
Previous experience with interpreting and understanding industrial instruments including Awards, Enterprise Agreements and Common Law arrangements.
Excellent problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to work autonomously and a strong team contributor.
Strong analytical skills and intermediate Excel skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
