The Role
From 2026 we are seeking a Full-time or Part-time Teacher/Trainer (Min 0.8) to support and engage with local young people attending our Skilling Programs in Atherton.

The main educational focus will be around functional literacy and numeracy as required in Foundational Skills.

We are looking for someone who:
* Has the relevant knowledge and skills to tailor programs for early school leavers.
* Has experience working with young people, especially those that have struggled with mainstream education, for a variety of reasons.
* Is passionate about re-engaging students through the fostering of positive and professional relationships.
* Is experienced in delivering curriculum support to students with low numeracy and literacy levels.
* Is passionate about experiential learning, providing opportunities for students to connect with and apply skills in real-world settings.
* Will ensure their practice is consistent with cultural, gender, developmental and other individual needs.
* Has highly developed communication skills.
Essential Qualifications
* Registered Teacher or VET Trainer with TAE400116 or equivalent
* Valid First Aid Certificate.
* Valid Working with Children's Check.
* Current 'C' class QLD driver's licence.

The base rate for this position depending on qualifications and experience is $84,078 - $100,000 pro rata per annum, plus superannuation and portable LSL.
In addition to your remuneration, you will enjoy generous tax free benefits up to $15,900 and up to an additional $2,650 for entertainment benefits pro rata per annum, as VPG is an Australian Charity.
