As the General Manager Finance Operations and Business Partnering you will lead a large and diverse team incorporating financial accounting, business partnering, statutory accounting, tax and finance operations.
This role provides strategic leadership to ensure robust financial governance, operational excellence, and the delivery of actionable insights that drive organisational performance.
You will partner with Senior Executives and Business Unit Leaders to deliver wholistic finance support, including accurate reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and outstanding commercial advice.
Key priorities include driving organisational efficiency and performance, strengthening internal controls, and improving the quality of financial insights for Business Unit Leaders across the organisation.
As Business Owner for UCQ's Finance Transformation Program, you will play a key role leading the implementation of modern finance systems (including D365, EPM, and S2P), ensuring alignment with best practice and organisational strategy.

Your part in our UnitingCare team:
Serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making and organisational goals.
Develop and implement finance policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and robust internal controls.
Streamline financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and performance.
Work closely with business units to identify opportunities for financial optimisation and drive initiatives that improve outcomes.
Act as a trusted advisor to the Chief Financial Officer, Group Executives, and General Manager of Finance Performance through the delivery of expert financial guidance.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis, monitor KPIs, and present actionable insights to stakeholders.
Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
As part of the Senior Leadership Team, contribute to key management decisions, balancing missional and commercial imperatives, and promoting safety, wellbeing, and flexible work practices.
What makes a difference for us?
Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies.
This may include: Nationally Coordinated Police Check, Right to Work in Australia, Insolvency Check
Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, or a related field
Accreditation from a recognised professional accounting organisation (e.g. CPA, CA or IPA) or similar field.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3-5 years in a finance leadership role.
Recent knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Experience leading transformation in a finance function environment
Highly Desirable: Demonstrated understanding of compliance requirements for not-for-profit and profit-for-purpose organisations, including the regulatory frameworks, principles, and obligations within the aged care, health, and community services sectors.
