The Role
We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand – Mechanical (Workshop) to supervise day-to-day workshop operations while remaining hands-on.
Reporting directly to the Workshop Manager, this is a first-line supervisory role suited to a senior Mechanical Fitter ready to take the next step into leadership. You will lead a small workshop team, coordinate daily workflow and timesheets, and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate daily workshop activities and job priorities
* Provide first-line leadership and support to tradespeople and apprentices
* Perform hands-on mechanical fitting, repairs and assembly work
* Review and approve timesheets and job documentation
* Lead safety discussions, toolbox talks and quality standards
* Support training, mentoring and ongoing team development
About You
* Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter
* Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience preferred
* Strong safety-first mindset and commitment to quality
* Confident communicator who leads by example
* Organised, reliable and team-focused
