Clinical Nurse Specialist–Haematology (McGrath Cancer Care Nurse)

This is for a 3-year Fixed Term Part Time appointment at 38 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Cancer Services team in Geraldton in the Midwest.

Position Profile: The Clinical Nurse Specialist – Haematology (McGrath Cancer Care Nurse) position is funded through a partnership with the McGrath Foundation. This position provides leadership that facilitates the ongoing development of clinical practice that reflects the McGrath Model of Care. The McGrath Cancer Care Nurse actively participates in the multidisciplinary team to contribute to treatment planning, ensures specific data required by the Foundation is added to the relevant McGrath Foundation controlled database on a regular and timely basis and attends and actively participates in McGrath Foundation education and information sharing events.

Cancer specific training can be provided to suitable applicants as per below for those applicants who do not possess a post graduate qualification in Cancer Nursing. The role offers expert haematology nursing knowledge and coordinates care across the organization to ensure integrated, best practice service delivery.

To be successful, you will have:

* A minimum of 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience as a registered nurse with at least 3 years recent full time equivalent experience in caring for people with blood cancers.
* Advanced clinical and professional knowledge and extensive experience and leadership in area of specialty, with the ability to assess, plan, initiate and manage complex cases at an advanced level.
* Extensive knowledge and application of safety and quality improvement and research principles to support evidence based practice.
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication (written/oral) skills.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Demonstrated digital capability across clinical systems and platforms that contribute to cancer contract activities, data collection and reporting.
* Eligible for / or in possession of a current C or C-A Class driver's licence or other specialised licence class.
