About the role
Serendia (AUST) Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team based in Canberra, ACT. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of our construction projects by providing accurate and detailed cost estimates. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to the growth and success of our company.
What you'll be doing
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, taking into account materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs
* Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather and analyse project requirements
* Utilise industry-leading software and tools to develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates
* Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to improve project profitability
* Participate in the bidding and tender process, ensuring that proposals are competitive and align with the company's strategic objectives
* Continuously monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle to ensure accurate forecasting
* Maintain detailed records and documentation to support the estimating process
What we're looking for
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably in the commercial and residential construction industry
* Proficient in the use of estimating software and tools, such as EstimateOne and Procore.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying cost-saving opportunities
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
* Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is highly desirable
* Australian Citizens are preferred.
