Primary objective
The Talent Acquisition Officer supports schools to attract and recruit a high-quality workforce to ensure Northern Territory students have access to quality education.
Context statement
The Educational Leadership Culture and Care Division is a centre for expertise in education workforce strategy, professional development, wellbeing, and culture. The division supports a culturally responsive workforce that is cared for, capable, engaged, and enabled. The Talent, Attraction and Recruitment branch facilitates the supply of a quality educational workforce to Northern Territory schools.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Maintain talent pools and assist with proactive candidate engagement, including screening teachers’ suitability for employment.
* Provide administration support including human resourcing, financial processing, correspondence management, document production, and data entry with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Support the Talent, Attraction and Recruitment team in various projects and programs related to workforce attraction.
* Develop, facilitate, and maintain collaborative networks and relationships with stakeholders such as teachers, principals, regulatory authorities, and union officials, managing queries via email, phone, and face-to-face interactions.
Selection criteria
Essential
* Knowledge of contemporary attraction and talent management, including end-to-end recruitment and candidate management.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide advice and establish professional relationships with a customer-centric approach.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks within deadlines.
* Ability to support others in using information technology, including online employment systems, analytical tools, and databases.
* Effective interaction with people from diverse cultures, with a comprehensive understanding of cultural responsiveness in workforce planning and recruitment.
Desirable
* Relevant bachelor’s degree (Business, Human Resources).
* Experience in interpreting HR legislation and working visa processes.
The successful applicant must have, or be in the process of obtaining, a current Working with Children Card.
