Your new role
As the Public Affairs Officer - Internal Communications, you will lead internal communications initiatives during a critical transition period. This 3-month contract role is designed to maintain momentum while permanent recruitment is underway. You'll be based on-site in Port Hedland and play a hands-on role in keeping internal communications running smoothly.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering internal communications strategies to boost employee engagement.
* Managing internal channels, branding, and staff-focused content.
* Supporting the rollout of a new intranet and internal visual identity.
* Coordinating monthly leadership meetings and key internal campaigns.
* Collaborating with the CEO and Public Affairs team to ensure consistent messaging.
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience in internal communications, ideally within government or public sector.
* Strong writing, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Familiarity with tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite for content creation.
* Willingness to live in Port Hedland for the duration of the 3-month contract.
* Tertiary qualifications in communications, PR, journalism, or a related field.
