Our **New Equipment Workshop** is currently looking for an experienced and highly motivated **Diesel Technician** to work at our** Clayton branch**. This is a full-time permanent position, offering a variety of rosters to create the best life work balance for you
- 7 x 7 - Week on, week off, Wed to Tues, 6am to 6pm
- 5 x 2 - Mon to Fri + RDO
- 4 x 3 - 4 days on and a 3-day weekend
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
Reporting to the Service Supervisor, you will primarily be responsible for all new machine build ups, including pre-delivery inspections, installation of accessories (mechanical, hydraulic & electrical), fitting quick hitches, bucket & attachments, enabling & setting up Caterpillar technology systems / devices and preparing new machines for delivery to the customer.
**What a typical day in the role will look like**:
- Conduct JSA's and Take 5's
- Operate machinery and use Forklift
- Carry out build-ups, repairs and maintenance of Cat equipment
- Assist apprentices and work experience students
- Compiling and completion of all paperwork relating to the completion of jobs
**You will bring the following skills, experience, and attributes to the role**:
- A qualified Mechanic (automotive, mobile plant or earth moving) with experience working on earthmoving equipment
- Understanding of computer systems, including Microsoft office
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- A can-do positive attitude and a team player
- Effective time management and ability to work unsupervised
- A strong commitment to safety, health & environment procedures
