Community Companion Role
Join our community social visit volunteer program to make a positive impact on the life of an elderly person in Sydney, Australia.
This role involves providing companionship and engaging the person in conversation for an hour each week. The ideal candidate will have a passion for great conversation and fascinating life stories.
The person we support is a retired nurse, midwife, and educator who is proud of her Welsh roots. She enjoys talking about her career, archaeology (especially Egyptology), and her favourite TV programs.
As a community companion, you will play a vital role in improving quality of life and reducing feelings of isolation. We are committed to promoting links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.
Requirements:
* Be 18 years or older
* Have a national police check arranged and paid for by us
We would be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a weekly visit between 9am and 5pm Monday to Sunday. Regular visits can help build strong relationships and create a sense of belonging.
