We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team at our Head Office in St Leonards. This is a 7 ½ month parental leave contract from the end of May 2025 to early January 2026.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional looking to expand their experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you will play a key role in managing general ledger reconciliations across allocated groups. Your responsibilities will include:
Bank and balance sheet reconciliations Generating weekly debtors reports and liaising with internal and external stakeholders Allocating customers payments and reconciling interfaced Debtors Ledger Preparing weekly and month-end journals (prepayments, expense accruals and provisions) Preparing or assisting with weekly, monthly and yearly reporting as well as adhoc financial requests Managing intercompany reconciliations Supporting audit preparations Assisting in budget and forecast data preparation About You: We are looking for a proactive, detail-orientated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will ideally have:
A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance with at least one year's experience in a similar role. Experience working within pharmaceuticals, FMCG or a fast-paced environment will be highly advantageous Professional membership CPA or CA or studying towards (highly desirable) A keen eye for detail with strong written and verbal communications skills Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet multiple deadlines A collaborative mindset and proactive approach to problem-solving This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a supportive team environment while developing your accounting expertise.
