OverviewPrincipal Power Systems Engineer role at AECOM in Perth, Western Australia.ResponsibilitiesLead utility-scale power system projects from feasibility through detailed design, integrating solar, wind, and battery storage systems.Conduct advanced grid interconnection and system planning studies, including steady-state and dynamic assessments, cable ratings using CYMCAP, and generator integration to ensure system stability.Provide technical leadership and guidance on AS Standards, WEM rules, Western Power requirements, and grid connection specifications.Perform Owner's Engineer duties, including design reviews, site inspections, grid compliance testing, and mentoring junior engineers.Collaborate with a team of multi-disciplinary engineers, clients, OEMs, network operators, and contractors producing technical reports, presentations, and supporting strategic renewable and energy transition initiatives.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering, with 12+ years' experience in power systems, ideally in consultancy, OEM, or utility network planning.
