The Opportunity

A dynamic Assistant Spatial Analyst is sought by our consulting teams in Melbourne. In this position, you'll work closely with staff to deliver high-quality GIS services across a wide range of projects for both local clients and businesses.


Key Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with consultants to raise awareness of spatial services and provide expert advice to address clients' complex challenges through creative solutions.
* Compose high-quality cartographic products that meet client-defined requirements, ensuring they align with corporate branding, standard product specifications, and cartographic principles.
* Manage and maintain spatial data to ensure accuracy and accessibility for project needs, including data creation, geocoding, and maintaining authoritative corporate spatial data, adhering to industry best practices.
* Perform spatial analyses and geo-processing tasks, including Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) and spatial queries, capturing and maintaining methodologies to demonstrate quality control processes.
* Engage in solution engineering, including web GIS, publishing digital maps, and configuring spatial tools and products.
* Assist with draft proposals, tenders, and submissions for potential projects, and preparing weekly reports.
* Contribute to the positive culture and collaborative environment of the team.


About You

Tertiary qualification in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Geography, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Urban Design, or related fields. Experience using desktop GIS (ArcGIS Pro preferred) and enterprise or web GIS platforms (ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online preferred). Familiarity with associated technologies like FME and Python for data manipulation and automation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
