Lead Technical Sales Consultant
We are seeking a seasoned Lead Technical Sales Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our sales organization, you will be responsible for facilitating the growth of our business by providing technical expertise and support to our Account Executives.
Your primary focus will be on educating prospects about our suite of commerce brands, including BigCommerce, Feedonomics, and Makeswift, through consultative best practices, analysis, and analytics that match their business and technical requirements.
You will conduct needs analysis and technical scoping sessions with prospective customers to gather and document key requirements, become fluent in competitive positioning, and effectively differentiate our solutions in the marketplace.
In addition, you will provide pre-sales technical consulting to our Sales staff by participating in online demonstrations, conference calls, and site visits with our Account Executives.
You will document all customer questions to ensure immediate follow-up on all outstanding issues, become a trusted advisor and the voice of our prospects and partners to Sales and Marketing teams, and work closely with our Account Executives to respond to proposals and RFPs to ensure that all technical information and recommendations address the client's requirements.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of Sales/Solutions Engineering experience in a relevant market, a strong knowledge of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON, and comfort with consultative presentations to C-level business executives and detailed discussions with a technical audience.
Experience with commerce solutions and applications, including POS, product catalogs, order management, ERP, and payment gateways, is also required. The ability to collaborate with and motivate multiple groups toward accomplishing a task is essential.
Sales methodology and Solution selling training are a plus, as well as a charismatic and energetic self-starting personality.
