Broadcast Engineering Position Overview
This is a high level technical role that involves maintaining the quality of broadcast signals, minimizing customer outages and ensuring the integrity of our system wiring.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain network quality by monitoring and adjusting audio and video parameters.
* Minimize customer outages by working effectively with other departments and team members.
* Analyze and react quickly to technical problems and understand complex signal paths including large routing systems.
Core Technical Skills:
* Monitoring and adjusting audio and video parameters to ensure best network quality.
* Maintaining network quality, minimizing customer outages and communicating technical issues and solutions in daily shift reports and pass-down meetings.
* Tuning and trouble-shooting various types of satellite and fiber decoders.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Assisting operations with training related to audio and video equipment use and their adjustments.
* Ensuring a clean and dust free environment in all technical areas.
* Maintaining the integrity of the system wiring and documentation.
* Coordinating and supporting internally and externally run company broadcast events.
* Providing assistance in network planning, engineering, architecture and the development of technical standards for video over IP.
* Providing basic resolution for routine network problems, coordination of support of end user problems, occasionally direct end user support for executives.
* Contributing to projects supporting the implementation, operations and management of the real time, network-computing infrastructure.
* Installing and repairing broadcast operations equipment as needed.
