Postdoctoral Researcher in Metallomics and Chemical Biology at University of Sydney. Base pay range: A$113,400 per year plus superannuation. Full-time, 2-year fixed term, located at the School of Chemistry on the Camperdown Campus.

What you will be doing
The School of Chemistry is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Metallomics and Chemical Biology with the primary responsibility of performing metallomics studies including the preparation of responsive fluorescent sensors for application in biological studies. The project is funded by a grant from the Human Frontier for Science Program and involves collaboration with researchers from different disciplines across four countries.
About you
* a PhD (or near completion) in organic chemistry, chemical biology, protein engineering or a closely related discipline
* experience in the synthesis, purification and characterization of organic molecules
* experience in the use of research methodologies relevant to metallomics
* experience in the preparation and deployment of fluorescent proteins will be highly regarded
* experience in biological studies will be highly regarded
* proven ability to conduct research/scholarly activities under limited supervision either independently or as a member of a team
* experience in student supervision at the undergraduate and graduate level
* proficient in the use of: NMR, IR, MS and UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy
* published research as sole author or in collaboration
* experience in research record keeping, preparation of research papers and presentation of seminars
