EL1 salary: $117,774 – $129,220 + 15.4% super
A leading Australian Federal Government regulator is seeking an experienced EL1 Assistant Director to join their Data, Risk Analytics & Reporting function. You will be joining a collaborative, high‑performing branch that oversees data collection, analysis, reporting and intelligence to support evidence‑based regulatory decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team delivering high‑quality data analysis, reporting and insightsOversee daily data operations, optimise processes and improve data workflowsDrive the successful delivery of analytics projects aligned to business needsSource, acquire, manage and integrate data to support evidence‑based decision makingPrepare high‑quality briefs, reports and documentation for internal and external audiencesIdentify trends and emerging issues to inform regulatory and operational strategiesContribute to enhancing organisational data capability and best‑practice approaches
Our Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone with:
Demonstrated experience leading data analytics or reporting functionsStrong leadership capability with a focus on building team performanceExcellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to apply critical thinkingExperience delivering data‑driven solutions that support business objectivesAbility to engage effectively with internal stakeholders and influence outcomesExperience identifying inefficiencies and contributing to continuous improvementAbility to translate complex data into clear, actionable insightsUnderstanding of regulatory environments (advantageous)
Desirable Qualifications & Skills
Tertiary qualifications in Data, Information Systems, Computer Science or related fields5+ years’ relevant experienceKnowledge of SQL Server, T‑SQL, Power BI or similar BI/reporting toolsExperience with Azure DevOps or CI/CD tools
