Jewellery Production Technician — Charm Finishing & Chain Assembly

We are a fast-growing ecommerce brand specialising in precious metals, fine jewellery, and jewellery making supplies. We are seeking a skilled and motivated craftsperson to join our production team. This role focuses on the
assembly and soldering of fine jewellery chains &
precision finishing of fine jewellery charms
across premium alloys — including
24k gold, solid yellow/white/rose gold, platinum, sterling silver
, and select
rare exotic alloys
.
This is a hands-on bench role in a modern workshop environment with opportunities to develop bench skills, specialist skills in
exotic precious metals
and advanced jewellery-making technology.
Key Responsibilities
Remove sprues from cast components with precision
File, sand, de-burr, and pre-polish jewellery charms to a high standard
Polish and surface finish pieces using rouges, compounds, mechanical and hand methods
Assemble, solder, and finish fine jewellery chains (gold, silver, platinum)
Perform quality checks at all touchpoints against set tolerances and finish grades
Track and handle precious metal inventory with care and responsibility
Maintain clean, safe bench organisation and workshop equipment
Advanced Materials & Skill Opportunities
Hands-on training and exposure to:
Finishing, polishing & functional handling of
18ct purple gold
Working with
new and emerging technologies
Advanced surface finishing and tool selection for exotic metals
Bench-level problem solving for distortion, shrinkage, porosity and fire-stain

Required Skills & Experience
Bench jewellery-making experience (trade-qualified or equivalent practical experience)
Competent arc soldering or torch control for small assemblies
Skilled hand finishing and polishing capabilities
Clear understanding of jewellery quality and surface finish expectations
Strong attention to detail and visual accuracy
Able to operate independently within structured workflows and meet production targets
Australian work rights are required for this position
If you've done sprue removal, charm finishing, and chain assembly before — you are ideal.
Highly Desirable Skills (Not Required)
Jewellery CAD & 3D modelling (Rhino, MatrixGold, Fusion, ZBrush)
Hand engraving or laser engraving experience
Lost wax investment casting (tree building, devesting, finishing)
Precious metal recovery knowledge
Electroplating experience
Diamond/stone setting fundamentals
