About The Opportunity
As Head of Retail Development, you’ll lead store innovation, planning and delivery of IGA supermarket designs, construction, fit‑outs and refurbishments. You’ll oversee a multidisciplinary team to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective, and compliant store environments that reflect brand standards and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
In this Role
* Drive retail innovation and new capabilities to deliver ‘best store in town’ experiences
* Lead, coach and inspire a multidisciplinary team across design, project management, signage and equipment procurement
* Oversee national‑scale retail development projects from planning to fit‑out
* Manage P&L, cost‑centre budgets and financial performance of projects
* Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, BCA and Australian standards
* Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and independent retailers
* Oversee tendering processes and contracts, liaising with legal and procurement
* Identify procurement opportunities to optimise sourcing and equipment sales
You’re Likely a Match If
* 10+ years in store development, retail expansion or capital projects (supermarkets preferred)
* 5+ years in senior leadership roles managing large‑scale projects
* Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting and forecasting
* Expertise in retail design, construction and compliance standards
* Proven ability to lead high‑performing teams and develop future leaders
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* Customer‑centric mindset and innovative thinking
