This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced, dynamic, motivated and innovative individual, who has keen interest in an area that supports the delivery of coronary angiography, rotablation, stenting & cardiac implantable devices.
About the department
The Ipswich Heart Centre has 2 catheterisation laboratories and 12 recovery beds. Previous cardiac or cath lab experience is desirable but not essential. We offer training and have competencies in place to enable the successful applicant to rotate between our 12 bedded recovery area and Cath labs.
A visit to the department prior to the interview is strongly encouraged, so we can offer discussion of the post and an opportunity to observe the type of work performed by staff.
Hours of work are currently between Monday to Friday, and between the hours of 7am to 8pm, with a requirement to provide on-call cover. Shift patterns vary to meet the demands of the PCI service which is working towards delivering a 24/7 service.

Responsibilities
* Be able to identify potential complications associated with radiological procedures and know how to respond to these providing appropriate quick responses to support the team in stabilising the patient.
* Assist the doctor performing the investigation as a runner or scrub nurse seeking clarity of instructions wherever necessary.
* Know and be able to prepare patients for specific procedures performed in radiology maintaining their safety and dignity throughout.
* Upon completion of training, have attained a sufficiently high level of individual competence in order to facilitate immediate responses to emergency situations.
Qualifications
* Previous cardiac or cath lab experience is desirable but not essential.
* This role is not suitable for a Newly Qualified RN/Preceptorship.
* Be able to rotate between the 12-bed recovery area and Cath labs.
* On-call cover is required; hours and shift patterns vary to meet PCI service demands.
