About the Position
This is a 12-month full‐time position commencing February 2027, governed by the Victorian Doctors in Training Enterprise Agreement. As an Interventional Radiology Fellow you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, patient‐centred care under the supervision of consultant interventional radiologists.
Responsibilities
* Contribution to the pre‐operative and post‐operative management of IR patients.
* Attendance at daily operative lists.
* Daily ward rounds and supervision of junior medical staff.
* Communication and collaboration with imaging technologists and nursing staff.
* Participation in the on‐call roster.
* Communication and collaboration with colleagues in other units.
* Preparation and presentation at appropriate MDTs (e.g. Vascular/Endovascular MDT, Vascular Malformation MDT).
* Attendance at the weekly IR Outpatient Clinic for pre‐ and post‐operative assessment, management and clerking of patients.
* Contribution to annual IR audit and M&M data collection.
About the Department
Monash Health Radiology is the largest public provider of imaging, therapeutic and interventional services in Australia, operating six sites across the network. The IR division comprises 12 consultant interventional radiologists, 2 Body IR Fellows, a senior radiology registrar, an unaccredited registrar and an intern. We perform more than 3,500 body angiography procedures and over 5,000 non‐vascular image‐guided procedures annually, supported by four dedicated angiography suites and additional imaging facilities.
About You
You are a dynamic medical professional, enthusiastic and motivated to perform at your best each day, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You have a passion for interventional radiology and image‐guided surgery, with prior exposure to both vascular and non‐vascular interventions and a strong diagnostic imaging background. You are committed to clinical, patient‐centred practice and to the technical aspects of procedural medicine.
Medical Specialist/Fellow
* A medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) recognised for registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
* Completion of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists Part II exam and five years of radiology registrar training (or equivalent for overseas applicants).
* Demonstrated interest in formal FIR/FINR credentialing will be viewed favourably.
* Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
* Victorian Radiation Use Licence.
Other Requirements
* Current driver's licence.
* Australian working rights required.
* Mandatory participation in the on‐call roster.
* Travel between Monash Health campuses may be required during hours or while on‐call.
