At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
Your impact
The global resources sector is evolving and growing at speed. Driven by energy transition imperatives, decarbonisation targets and population growth, our clients are accelerating capital investments to discover and develop new assets while optimising existing operations. From early assessments through to closure, Jacobs is well placed to support that journey with integrated, multi disciplinary capability and delivery at scale.
As our Project & Proposal Engineering – Resources professional, you will operate in a senior role responsible for leading the operational response for key pursuits and projects across the resources market. You'll develop and articulate differentiated solutions that leverage Jacobs' multi-disciplinary strengths - while identifying any offer gaps and working with leadership to close them. This is a Perth based role.
A critical component of this senior position is the ability to autonomously estimate, scope, structure and author complete RFQ responses that win work and set projects up for success.
You'll work closely with Growth & Sales, Engineering, Design Management and Project Management, collaborating with commercial and technical leaders to deliver both solicited and non-solicited proposals that expand our portfolio and strengthen client relationships.
What you'll do
* Own end to end RFQ responses: independently structure, write and compile complete RFQ packages (technical and commercial), including execution methodologies, delivery strategies, risk narratives and compliance matrices.
* Estimate and scope autonomously: develop cost estimates, fee/pricing models, schedule assumptions, scope definitions and BoQs in collaboration with discipline leads, without reliance on a separate estimating function.
* Lead proposal development: drive bid strategy, win themes and value propositions for sustaining capital, brownfield and major projects across the resources sector.
* Coordinate multi disciplinary inputs: orchestrate contributions from engineering, design, project management, construction/commissioning and commercial teams to produce cohesive, compliant submissions.
* Write, edit and assure quality: prepare high quality narratives; verify pricing notes, assumptions, technical content and compliance.
* Grow the pipeline: develop capability statements, pursuit packs and non solicited proposals that position Jacobs ahead of emerging opportunities.
* Champion continuous improvement: strengthen proposal processes, benchmarks, templates and estimating tools to increase win rates and efficiency.
Here's what you'll need
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and substantial professional experience within the Mining/Resources sector.
* Demonstrated track record in engineering consultancy services is crucial, including experience delivering proposals, RFQs, fee models and client facing technical content.
* Proven success delivering winning bids and proposals for resources clients, including independently authored RFQs.
* Hands on estimating capability, able to develop cost/fee models from first principles with clear basis of estimate.
* Advanced technical writing skills, able to synthesise multi disciplinary inputs into clear, compelling narratives.
* Ideally, consultancy background: project engineering / project management experience, including site exposure and understanding of construction and commissioning interfaces.
* Sound commercial acumen and knowledge of engineering service provider norms.
* A high level of autonomy, ownership and accountability befitting a senior role with responsibility for end to end proposal delivery.
