Senior Claims Consultant – Public Sector Claims
Join Marsh Australia as a Senior Claims Consultant in our Public Sector claims team, based in our Sydney office.
This hybrid role requires working in the office at least three days per week.
In this role you will deliver claims management services to local government clients, handling a portfolio of Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, Property and D&O claims.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end processes for a mixed portfolio of primarily Public Liability, Professional Indemnity and Property claims.
Conduct accurate reserving, claims investigation, manage claims costs, and negotiate with various third parties.
Build and maintain rapport with clients.
Analyse entitlements of cover to clients.
Deal with external reinsurers on a quarterly basis.
Forge relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including brokers, underwriters and reinsurers.
Qualifications
7+ years of general insurance claims experience.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Customer service-oriented approach.
Calm under pressure and able to work flexibly when required.
Experience providing indemnity advice to stakeholders.
Deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Eligibility to work in Australia.
Desired to Stand Out
Experience managing high-value public liability, property and D&O claims.
Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Law, Business/Commerce, Loss Adjusting or ANZIIF studies).
Previous client-facing experience.
Experience mentoring colleagues.
