About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a result driven, technically competent sales professional to join our New South Wales sales team in the role of Area Sales Manager to grow accounts for the highly industrialised business districts of Newcastle and North East NSW.
Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the role is responsible for maintaining existing direct & distribution customer relationships whilst developing new business opportunities with potential customers across various industry sectors such as mining, water, rail and metals production
Our successful applicant will preferably possess the following skillset and demonstrated previous experience:
* Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or relevant mechanical trade background with technical aptitude/skills.
* 3-5 years minimum technical sales experience essential (selling mechanical engineered product components) and proven experience in managing a designated sales territory with significant budget accountability and proven consistent track record
* Solid organisational and planning skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks
* Sound problem solver and reasoning skills with solution selling capability
* Possess exceptional rapport building and relationship building skills
* CRM software package experience and administrative discipline
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience using MS Office suite of programs
* Possess a safety mindset to successfully operate within and promote a safe working environment
* Hold a current Australian driver's license
