The Opportunity:

This is a unique full-time opportunity for an experienced clinician to lead and support the Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) and Mental Health team at Ngaanyatjarra Health Service. The role focuses on providing clinical leadership, guidance, and supervision to ensure trauma-informed, culturally safe, and evidence-based care for Yarnangu people across the Ngaanyatjarra Lands.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to advocate for the community, contribute to strategic planning, and enhance service delivery. The role also offers the chance to lead continuous quality improvement initiatives, maintain clinical governance, and support the professional development of a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

This is a permanent role with a flexible FIFO roster which offers the chance to collaborate with Yarnangu workers and other service providers to ensure programs are community-led, effective, and sustainable.

About You:


• Professionally committed to working with Aboriginal people, families, and communities


• Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing or Occupational Therapy.


• Strong leadership, mentoring, and supervision skills in multidisciplinary environments.


• Skilled in office administration and developing/facilitating clinical processes.


• Experienced in providing strengths-based, person-focused, trauma-informed care and advocating for clients.


• Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.


• Committed to personal and professional development, including sharing knowledge and skills with colleagues.


• Excellent written, verbal communication, customer service, and engagement skills


• Self-motivated, able to multi-task, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.


• Knowledgeable of relevant legislation and policy frameworks.


• Holds current WA "C" class driver's license, National Police Clearance, and Working with Children Check or willing to obtain.


• Able to travel by light aircraft and 4WD to support service delivery.

Ngaanyatjarra Lands is a vibrant tapestry of culture and community nestled within the vast beauty of the Australian desert. Home to approximately 2000 Yarnangu (Ngaanyatjarra people) across 11 unique communities, our council is dedicated to preserving and celebrating our rich heritage spanning over 10,000 years and 250,000 square kilometres.

Established in 1981, the Ngaanyatjarra Council Group (NCG) represents the interests of the Ngaanyatjarra People across the 11 communities in the Central Desert region of Western Australia. Employing in excess of 450 people, NCG provides a wide range of services, including health, utilities, construction, employment, community development, shops, roadhouses, art centres and land services. It is one of the largest and most successful Indigenous organisations in the country.
