Job Description
The Support Worker plays a critical part in providing shelter and housing support services. This includes assisting with intake procedures, identifying client problems, needs, and risks, and planning individual counselling sessions using basic one-on-one techniques. The successful candidate will provide life skills building, advocacy, and conflict resolution in a safe and welcoming environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Basic computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
* Training in or knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approach.
* Knowledge of services available to shelter users and residents.
* Ability to work independently and show initiative and creativity.
* Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills.
