Counsellor (Psychology, Councelling & Social work)
Ignite Potential is a not-for-profit organisation committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. Our team works with compassion, cultural sensitivity, and a strong sense of social justice to empower individuals and promote inclusive mental health support.
We are seeking a dedicated and culturally competent Mental Health and Counselling Professional to deliver high-quality mental health support and counselling services to individuals and families from CALD backgrounds.
In this role, you will:
Provide culturally responsive mental health assessments, counselling, and case management.
Develop individualised recovery and wellbeing plans in partnership with clients.
Facilitate group programs and community education workshops where needed.
Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with legal and organisational policies.
Contribute to community capacity building and advocacy activities.
About You
Degree-qualified in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or related discipline.
Registered with AHPRA, ACA, PACFA, AASW or other relevant professional body.
Experience working with CALD communities and a deep understanding of cultural, migration, and settlement-related mental health issues.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cross-cultural engagement skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a community-based setting.
Bilingual skills (please specify language[s]).
Experience in trauma-informed practice, refugee and asylum seeker support, or community development.
