Civmec is proud to be part of the alliance delivering the Perth Parks Project on the Burswood Peninsula — a major new cultural, sporting and community precinct for WA. In partnership with Aurecon and Seymour Whyte, we are constructing landmark facilities including:
A multi‐use events building
A multi‐use racetrack for cycling and motorsport events
As this iconic project progresses, we are seeking experienced Concrete Finishers to join our team and contribute to the successful delivery of this high‐profile development.
The Role
* Carry out all aspects of concrete works, including placement, finishing, patching, grouting, and repairs.
* Review SWMS and participate in pre‐start planning, including developing Task Cards before commencing work.
* Set up job fronts with correct barricading and ensure all required tooling and equipment are prepared.
* Liaise with Supervisors to confirm correct concrete volumes are ordered.
* Carry out concrete placement and finishing, including vibration, screeding, floating, and achieving required project tolerances and specifications.
* Maintain tools and equipment through regular wash‐down, cleaning, and trowel machine maintenance, including blade rotation and replacement.
* Demobilise work fronts by removing tooling, waste, and rubbish, ensuring the area is left clean and orderly.
* Perform green cutting of construction joints from previous pours when required.
* Complete patching and repair works, including addressing slurry loss, honeycombing, and other defects as directed by supervision.
* Provide cross‐trade assistance when concrete work fronts are not available.
* Perform high‐tolerance screeding, consistently achieving ±3 mm accuracy.
* Operate walk‐behind power trowels to deliver high‐quality finishing in line with project specifications.
About You
* Previous civil construction experience within the mining, resources, or major infrastructure sectors
* Demonstrated experience operating power trowels
* Competent in soft‐cut saw operation for early‐entry joints
* Certificate III in Concreting (desirable but not essential)
* Current Western Australian C‐Class Driver's Licence
* Construction White Card (General Construction Induction)
