Key responsibilities
1. Daily care
— Feed, groom, rug and monitor health of stallions, mares, and foals.
2. Breeding support
— Prepare stables and equipment for breeding activities; assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations and procedures under direction.
3. Bringing recipient mares and client mares to our breeding barn for scans
4. Foal management
— Assist with basic first-aid for foals.
5. Stable and facility maintenance
— Clean stables, yards, equipment, and hygiene standards.
6. Record keeping
— Maintain accurate animal records, treatment logs, and breeding data.
7. Teamwork
— Communicate effectively with vets, reproduction technicians, and management; cover early starts, weekends, and on-call duties as rostered.
Skills and experience required
* Minimum 2 years' experience working with horses in a stud, breeding, or high-performance yard.
* Practical knowledge of equine handling.
* Comfortable working around stallions and in close proximity to reproductive procedures.
* Strong attention to detail for record-keeping, and horse care.
* Ability to lift, carry, and perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in all weather.
