About the role
Karingal Seymour is seeking a Food Services Assistant to join their team in Seymour, VIC on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality food services to residents in our aged care facility, ensuring their nutritional needs are met and that they receive a positive dining experience.
What you'll be doing
* Prepare and serve meals and refreshments for residents in accordance with dietary requirements and preferences
* Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards throughout all food handling and preparation processes
* Set up and clear dining areas, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment for residents
* Assist with ordering, receiving and storing food and other catering supplies
* Provide friendly and attentive customer service to residents during mealtimes
* Contribute to continuous improvement of food services through feedback and suggestions
What we're looking for
* Experience in a similar food services or catering role, ideally in an aged care or healthcare setting
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation and handling
* Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact sensitively with older adults
* Strong organisational and time management skills to ensure efficient meal preparation and service
* A team-oriented approach and the willingness to assist others as needed
* Relevant qualifications - Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery or HLTFSE001 Basic Food Handling Training (or able to obtain within 30 days of employment)
* Valid work visa or Australian work rights required
* Police check or NDIS clearance must be obtained within 30 days of commencement
