RASP Australia is currently seeking a FIFO Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the team in Queensland on an 8:6 roster. In this role, you'll help deliver a range of sustaining capital projects within an active processing environment. This 12-month contract role blends technical leadership with project delivery. You'll support a multidisciplinary team while helping drive the successful delivery of a range of mechanical and infrastructure upgrades tied to upcoming major maintenance activities.
Scope of Involvement
* Portfolio Support Contribute to delivery of a portfolio of sustaining and improvement projects (generally $0.25M–$3M range)
* Support planning, sequencing and integration of works with broader operational and shutdown requirements
* Engineering Leadership Provide technical guidance and oversight to a small mechanical engineering team (including junior engineers)
* Review and coordinate engineering outputs including design documentation, specifications and vendor inputs
* Support safety-in-design and compliance with applicable standards
* Project Delivery
* Take lead responsibility for selected work packages as required
* Support scope development, procurement activities, contractor engagement and execution planning
* Interface with operations, maintenance and site stakeholders to ensure constructability and minimal disruption
* Typical Work Packages Plant upgrades associated with emissions management and environmental performance
* Modifications to materials handling and processing infrastructure
* Replacement or refurbishment of mechanical plant and equipment
* Electrification and efficiency improvement initiatives
* Support for lifting, access and auxiliary systems upgrades
* Stakeholder Integration Work closely with site teams, OEMs and delivery partners
* Support alignment between engineering, procurement and construction activities
* Contribute to readiness planning for upcoming major shutdown works
* Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience in brownfield / sustaining capital environments
* Strong capability across both engineering design and project delivery
* Experience coordinating small teams and mentoring junior engineers
* Familiar with operational site constraints, shutdowns and staged delivery
* Comfortable working in a FIFO, site-based environment
Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree – Mechanical Engineering
* 3 – 5 Years Experience
Must be able to pass a Heavy Medical
