Job Description
As a Systems Engineer, you will play a vital role in developing and managing system requirements, models, and documents. You will undertake system engineering activities in compliance with BAE Systems Engineering Lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
* Performing analyses to define and characterise the system and its components
* Utilising domain, discipline, and systems engineering understanding to ensure products meet their requirements and are fit for purpose
* Developing work statements and technically managing suppliers
* Ensuring that the design meets all statutory regulatory requirements
* Developing and executing system tests and agreeing component tests which will ensure that the implemented designs conform to their specifications
* Maintaining the design and its documentation in accordance with the applicable configuration management, change management, and traceability processes
* Providing engineering status and metrics reporting
* Developing an understanding of the application of the BAE Systems Australia Business Management System (BMS) engineering process
About You
You will have a university degree-level engineering qualification, preferably within a systems, electronics, software, or mechatronics discipline. Demonstrated systems engineering experience coupled with engineering experience in a relevant discipline is required.
* Good understanding of systems engineering practices and engineering methods as applied to the development of military equipment and services
* Experience in effective use of engineering process, methods, tools, and infrastructure
* Proven ability to function confidently within a project team environment with demonstrated problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment or autonomously
* Ability to partner with and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to obtain the necessary deliverables
* Defence security clearance NV1 or eligibility to obtain
* Eligibility to be cleared for international traffic in arms regulations
