Comm Unity Plus Services Ltd (operating as commUnity+) is a multidisciplinary community organisation that has provided services across Melbourne's greater north and west regions for more than 40 years. About the position
This role will report to the respective Senior Social Worker of the site. Children's Contact Service Worker will assist in the delivery of services to clients within the Family Programs of Community Plus, primarily the Children's Contact Service.
This includes the facilitation of changeovers and supervised visits with a trauma-informed and child-focussed approach, in accordance with individual client agreements, CCS/organisational policy, program guidelines and the legislative frameworks.
This position will be primarily based in Glenroy and is available as a fixed term part time position with averaging 34 hours a week including work over weekends.
Key Selection Criteria
* Tertiary degree ( minimum 3 years) in Social work or Social Sciences (i.e., Sociology, Psychology,) or other relevant qualification.
* Demonstrated experience and ability in working with children, with an understanding of children's development and their needs around contact issues.
* Demonstrated case work or case management experience
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive communications and work with clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
* Demonstrable understanding of family law and its impact on families in conflict.
* Proven ability to work effectively in a team and to apply initiative to solving problems with minimal supervision
A current Driver's License and the ability to travel between offices and outreach locations is essential for this role. Additionally, a Working with Children Check and National Police Check with ongoing validity are mandatory for this role.
Further, the ability and willingness to work on weekends on a regular basis is essential for this role.
