A well-established commercial law firm is seeking a Lawyer or Associate to join its mortgage and secured lending team in Sydney.
This is a great opportunity for a lawyer with experience in banking & finance, property or mortgage transactions who enjoys hands‐on transactional work and wants to build depth in secured lending within a collaborative, partner‐accessible environment.
The Opportunity
You'll work closely with senior lawyers and partners on a steady flow of mortgage and secured lending transactions, supporting a diverse client base across a range of matters. The role offers strong exposure to end‐to‐end transactions, real responsibility from day one, and the chance to grow your technical expertise in a supportive team.
What You'll Be Doing
* Drafting and reviewing loan documentation, mortgages and security agreements
* Advising on mortgage law and relevant regulatory requirements
* Preparing and lodging real and personal property security registrations
* Supporting the execution of complex secured lending transactions
* Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver efficient, high‐quality client service
* Keeping up with legislative and regulatory developments
* Contributing to business development and firm initiatives as your experience grows
About You
This role will suit a lawyer who brings:
* A recognised law degree and Australian practising certificate
* At least 2 years' PQE, ideally in banking & finance, property or a related transactional practice
* Experience with PEXA and property‐related transactions
* Strong drafting, research and analytical skills
* The ability to manage multiple matters and competing priorities
* A proactive, client‐focused and team‐oriented approach
