Operational Technology – Field Systems (Hardware) Technician

Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor – Field Systems, you will work on a day/night rotating roster of 42 hours per week, forming part of a collaborative and safety‐focused team. Your primary duties include:
- Setup, maintenance and development of operational technologies such as LTE, Modular, CAT Mine Star, CCTV, Digital Radio, Network Access Point Servers, TCP/IP Networking, PTP and PMP Microwave Radio Links and associated communications infrastructure
- Remote diagnosis of equipment using specialised software applications
- Support continuous improvement and project initiatives delivered by the Field Systems team
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of Operational Technology Systems and processes, including guidelines, procedures, templates and tools
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
Skills and Experience
The candidate should exhibit Yancoal Our Way behaviours and foster a One Team culture. Desired qualifications and attributes:
- A tertiary qualification in electronics or a related discipline
- Experience in a similar field‐based hardware role, ideally within large‐scale mining operations
- Exposure to operational technology systems and/or telecommunications environments
- Experience with LTE and Wi‐Fi communication networks
- Experience with fibre optic systems (desirable)
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PDF)
- Well‐developed problem‐solving and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective workplace relationships
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a large team
- Proven commitment to safe work practices and high‐quality outcomes
