Location: LGH Charles Street, Launceston, Northern Tasmania
Award: Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award, General Stream, Band 3
Salary: $73,811 – $86,248 pro rata, per annum (plus 12% superannuation)
Employment type: Permanent, part‐time (up to 60.8 hours per fortnight)
The Role
* Provide and maintain an efficient admission service to the Northern Cancer Service.
* Co‐ordinate day‐to‐day information, forms, correspondence and documents for chargeable patients at Holman Clinic, North West Cancer Centre and Mersey Community Hospital Day Oncology Unit.
* Deliver effective liaison service for private and compensable patients.
Qualifications & Experience
* Hospital admissions or clerical experience, including accurate patient interviewing, medical records management, and use of computerised patient administration or health information systems.
* Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills, engaging sensitively and professionally with patients, families and clinical staff, and capturing demographic and financial information accurately.
* Compliance and integrity requirements – successful completion of mandatory pre‐employment checks, confidentiality adherence, and alignment with Department of Health policies and procedures.
* Desirable: completion of a course in medical terminology.
