**About the Opportunity**
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the **WABS** team as a** Medical Consultant - Women's Anaesthesia,**where you will be responsible for:
- Providing anaesthetic, acute pain and resuscitative services for the patients of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G;) Departments. 
- the provision of high-quality pre-anaesthetic patient preparation, participation in the Pre-anaesthetic Clinics, pain relief services for labouring women, anaesthesia for elective and emergency obstetrics and gynaecology surgery and post-anaesthetic care services. 
- supervising and training of anaesthetic registrars in accordance with the new ANZCA curriculum. 
- ensuring that patients are managed using evidence based best practice. 
- contributing to team work within a multidisciplinary environment for optimal clinical service outcomes.
**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award. 
- Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA). 
- Maintenance of Qualifications for Consultant/Senior Consultant registerable as a Specialist with the AHPRA. 
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to work with individuals and families for positive health outcomes and to foster productive working relationships both internally and externally. 
- A demonstrated working experience in the field of obstetric and gynaecological anaesthesia 
- Experience in working in a large public secondary or tertiary centre.
