This is a varied casual Warehouse Operator position, which works as part of a small experienced and established team. The position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager, with our Warehouse and Head Office located in Frenchs Forest. This is a three month casual placement covering a staff member on long service leave.
Skills and experience required:
- 2+years' warehouse and pick packing experience.
- Forklift driver's license, high level of physical fitness.
- A team player, with the ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proactive and positive attitude.
- SAP or other large ERP systems experience desirable.
Key Duties:
- Day-to-day operations of the warehouse such as picking, packing and labelling of consignments as well as the preparation of export shipments, reeling of cable and storing of products.
- Follow the goods receiving procedures and check off all incoming goods against the suppliers' invoice, packing slips, or other manifest papers.
- Assist in the preparation of all outgoing shipments to ensure accurate picking of the items and quantities as listed packing list, or delivery note.
- Ensure safe and adequate packaging methods and materials are used and the consignment is accurately labelled according to specific customers instructions or the general quality standards of HUBER+SUHNER.
- Responsible for checking and recording of batch numbers of all components and cables being shipped in order to facilitate the trace ability in the event of a quality complaint.
- Ensure all the required shipping documents and labels are attached to the shipment to allow for clear identification of the delivery by the receiving party.
- Operate the cable-winding machine, the forklift and any other warehouse equipment or tools of trade in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
- To keep the warehouse clean, tidy and organised at all times.
- Participate in any periodical stock takes.
- Ad hoc duties as required.
