About the Role:
Are you an experienced heavy haulage driver with a passion for transporting oversized machinery across diverse terrains and project sites? Join our team and play a vital role in supporting mining and infrastructure operations throughout Victoria and interstate.
This role involves the safe and efficient transport of oversized and sometimes heavy equipment, primarily plant and machinery between mine sites and project locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Operation
* Operate heavy haulage vehicles including large low loaders and platforms.
* Drive and maneuver Kenworth prime movers and Drake low loaders and platforms across varied terrain and conditions.
Equipment Transport
* Safely transport heavy and oversized machinery between sites.
* Ensure secure loading and unloading of equipment in line with safety standards.
Vehicle Maintenance
* Perform daily pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks.
* Report and address mechanical issues promptly to ensure fleet reliability.
Compliance & Safety
* Adhere to all road transport regulations and company safety procedures.
* Maintain accurate transport documentation and ensure load restraint compliance.
Client & Site Interaction
* Communicate professionally with clients and site personnel during deliveries.
* Represent the company with a high standard of customer service and reliability.
About you:
Experience & Qualifications
* Proven experience transporting over-dimensional and in-gauge freight.
* Demonstrated ability to operate low loader, dolly combinations, Road Trains and manage heavy machinery transport.
* Strong understanding of load restraint and transport safety protocols.
* Ability to work independently and adapt to changing project requirements.
Licences & Pre-requisites
* Valid Multi-Combination (MC) Licence, held for a minimum of 3 years.
* Willingness to travel intrastate and interstate, including weekends as required.
* Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening.
