Challenger Valves & Actuators was established in 1984 and is a leading manufacturer, supplier and distributor of valving and actuation, providing products and solutions to the water, power, mining, irrigation and general industries. The company operates nationally with facilities in Shepparton (Head Office), Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle and Perth.
Challenger Valves & Actuators are currently seeking a full‐time, motivated and reliable Junior Storeperson to join their growing Shepparton team. This generalist position plays a key role in assisting with the day‐to‐day running and support of the warehouse.
Responsibilities
* Assist with valve assembly and assembly tasks
* Collect parts and restock valve components
* Assist with pre‐testing and final testing
* Undertake basic machining and repairs
* Manage incoming and outgoing freight
* Maintain stock presentation and rotation
* Operate a forklift
* Assist with stocktake
* General cleaning and maintenance of the warehouse
Qualifications and Requirements
* Highly self‐motivated with a strong willingness to learn
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work unsupervised
* Efficient, accurate and capable of multitasking with rapid task switching
* Team player with pride in work
* Sound administration and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
* Good physical health to meet job requirements
* High‐risk work licence (forklift) or willingness to obtain one
* Current and valid diver's licence
* Full eligibility to work in Australia
Ideally, the candidate is looking to start a career within storage or warehouse services, manufacturing and/or the water or irrigation industry. Applicants with previous school‐based trade skills or plumbing experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
