The Gig An exciting opportunity is now available for a reliable, motivated, and hands-on Civil Leading Hand to join a well-run site crew delivering a project in Western Sydney. You’ll ply your trade on bulk earthworks, drainage, pavements, concrete, and services, coordinating day-to-day tasks, guiding labourers and operators, and helping keep things safe, productive, and on spec. Reporting to the Site Supervisor and Project Manager, you’ll act as the link between management and site crew, overseeing daily activities, supporting delivery goals, and setting a positive tone on site. With the tools in hand and people behind you, you’ll be trusted to drive work forward from the ground up. You’ll be trusted with: Leading daily site activities and directing crew tasks to meet targets Reading and interpreting plans to carry out works correctly Ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and environmental standards Running toolbox talks, pre-starts, and basic site documentation Assisting with setting out, levels, and marking out works when required Monitoring material and plant use to minimise delays and waste Helping coordinate subcontractors and ensure they stay on scope Identifying and resolving minor issues before they become delays Mentoring junior crew members and maintaining a positive team culture Keeping your site clean, compliant, and productive at all times What’s in your toolbox? 3 years’ experience as a Civil Leading Hand or skilled Civil Labourer ready to step up Hands-on knowledge across drainage, earthworks, pavements, and services Confident reading plans, setting out works, and guiding others Strong communication and leadership skills, calm, clear, and direct Current White Card and relevant plant tickets highly regarded A commitment to doing things properly, safely, and as part of a team You’re the kind of person who shows up, sets the tone, and gets the job done.
