About this role
As a Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable and secure IT solutions that meet user and business requirements. This role goes beyond defect detection—you will take ownership of quality assurance and contribute to risk mitigation across the software development lifecycle.
You'll devise and execute structured test strategies, with a priority on automation to enhance efficiency and coverage, while collaborating closely with developers, analysts, and product owners throughout the entire process, from requirements gathering to the maintenance of testing solutions. In doing so, you'll validate functionality, performance, accessibility, and security to guarantee real-world effectiveness and a seamless user experience, and you'll also contribute to the ongoing improvement of testing processes, tools, and practices to further elevate product quality and delivery.
Key responsibilities
* Develop test strategies based on requirements, and design and execute test plans, test cases and test scenarios
* Perform end-to-end testing for web applications and backend services to ensure overall system functionality and business process integrity
* Conduct functional, integration, system and regression testing across frontend and backend systems
* Support test environment setup, including test data, tools and resource configuration to enable effective test execution
* Execute both manual and automated testing, and develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
* Validate APIs, service logic and data processing to ensure system stability and data integrity
* Verify frontend components, UI interactions and user journeys to ensure alignment with design and business requirements
* Identify, log and track defects, and drive defect prioritisation and resolution to closure
* Produce test reports and documentation, providing clear updates on progress, risks and quality outcomes
* Collaborate with development, product and business stakeholders within Agile teams to continuously improve testing processes and product quality
Skills and experience
* Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software or system testing, with demonstrated senior-level capability
* Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
* Proven experience in structured testing, including system, integration, regression, API and end-to-end testing
* Strong skills in data validation, verification, SQL querying, analysis, and expected results modeling
* Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent test and defect management platforms
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
* Proficient in performing both manual and automated testing in an Agile environment
