About The Role
Our Federal Government Client is seeking several IT Architects for different projects.
This is a long‑term contract role for 6 months with 2x12 months potential extensions, available across Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra or Melbourne with standard federal government working arrangements.
This Recruitment Round Includes Specialist Roles
* Network & Gateway Architect: Strong engineering capability with CISCO architectural experience across multi‑vendor environments.
* Infrastructure & Cloud Architect: Strong AWS expertise with cloud migration experience; cloud is the default hosting platform.
As The Selected Candidate, You Will
* Develop and maintain end‑to‑end architecture solutions aligned with architecture principles, industry standards, organisational IT strategies, and governance frameworks.
* Collaborate with stakeholders on complex technical issues, including strategy, planning, governance, and risk management.
* Work closely with delivery teams and IT service providers to architect and design application and infrastructure components to support efficient and effective IT service delivery.
* Provide ongoing design assurance to ensure delivery outcomes align with design intent and best practice.
* Anticipate emerging technology challenges and incorporate industry and market trends into enterprise architecture.
* Promote automation opportunities across infrastructure and application deployment, maintenance, and operations.
* Collaborate with vendors to identify and deliver improvements across the technology portfolio.
* Act as a model leader and help uplift capability across internal teams.
* Develop position papers, business cases, reference architectures, standards, and assessments for initiatives outside standard operating patterns.
* Identify technical debt in out‑of‑pattern solutions.
To Be Successful In This Role You Should Have
* Demonstrated experience developing end‑to‑end technology architecture solutions incorporating architecture principles, standards, integration considerations, industry trends, and IT strategy.
* Experience in large and complex government environments.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across senior executives, delivery teams, and provider partners.
* Ability to navigate complex commercial, technical, and operational environments to produce scalable, sustainable solutions.
* Ability to clearly articulate complex and technical information to diverse audiences.
* In‑depth understanding of platform efficiency, compliance, and security.
* Experience in one or more of:
* Digital Services, Data, AI, Network & Gateway, or Cloud (AWS/Azure) architecture
* Developing patterns, reference architectures, or architecture principles for Data or AI Architecture
It Is Desirable If You Have
* Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architect, or ITIL.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian Citizens with the ability to obtain (or currently hold) Baseline or NV1 clearance, depending on the position.
