Heavy Vehicle Mechanic - Road Transport Specialist
This role requires a qualified and safety-minded Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to support the maintenance and reliability of our fleet. The successful candidate will work across a wide range of equipment including trucks, floats, light vehicles, and heavy earthmoving plant.
Key Responsibilities:
* Promote continuous improvement in safe work practices.
* Adhere to workshop rules and regulations at all times.
* Communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, and team members daily.
* Diagnose and repair faults thoroughly.
* Service and maintain equipment within the plant and truck fleet.
* Work efficiently within tight schedules while maintaining high standards.
* Implement and follow Lean practices to ensure quality and cost efficiency in repairs and maintenance.
* Assist with planning and maintaining service schedules.
* Coordinate with suppliers to source parts based on quality and cost-effectiveness.
* Maintain company tools and equipment.
* Take ownership of major repairs, working efficiently while keeping the work environment clean and safe.
Requirements:
* Hold at least 2 years of experience as a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
* Possess sound knowledge of drivetrain, brakes, and suspension systems.
* Have basic auto electrical knowledge.
* Be competent with computers and digital diagnostics tools.
* Demonstrate an outstanding work ethic and commitment to completing tasks.
