GSL Education are seekingSocial, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistantsto provide dedicated, one-to-one or small group support for students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges for schools inWakefield (WF4).
ThisSEMH TArole is ideal for someone patient, empathetic, and confident in supporting students to engage with learning and build confidence.
Responsibilities
Support students withSEMHneeds during lessons and activities
Assist in implementing individual support plans and strategies
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
Build trusting relationships to support emotional and social development
Liaise with teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals as needed
Maintain accurate records of student progress and wellbeing
Candidate Profile
Experience working with children or young people, preferably inSEMHsettings
Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage challenging behaviour positively and consistently
Professional, reliable, and student-focused
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education
