Position Overview
Blue Sky Community Services is seeking to employ a professional and values‐aligned person to join our supportive and friendly team as a Local Area Coordinator based out of our Coffs Harbour office.
This role is full time, 38 hours per week, and is offered on a fixed‐term basis until 30 June 2027.

This position sits within Blue Sky's Local Area Coordination Service funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Responsibilities
* Support eligible people with disability to access the NDIS and to implement their NDIS Plan
* Assist NDIS participants, their families and carers to identify and pursue goals that enable participants to live a good life
* Build the capacity of participants, their families and carers to exercise choice and control, and to manage their NDIS Plan and lives as independently as possible
* Build the capacity of people with disability who are not eligible for the Scheme, their families, carers and broader circles of support to generate options and implement solutions, and to access other services and supports within the broader service system and community
* Build community capacity for greater inclusion of people with disability and create and utilise beneficial linkages within the community to expand options and possibilities for people with disability
Qualifications
* Relevant qualifications, skills or lived/work experience transferable to delivering Local Area Coordination services to a high professional standard
* Demonstrated understanding of the NDIS, including participant pathways, plan implementation, capacity building, and the broader service and community support systems
* Ability to deliver supports that are person‐centred, strengths‐based, solutions‐focused, culturally safe, and aligned with human rights and inclusion principles
* Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build rapport, manage expectations, provide impartial information, and communicate with diverse stakeholders
* Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with participants, families, carers, community organisations, and other key stakeholders
* Demonstrated ability to manage a high‐volume workload, meet KPIs and timeframes, maintain accurate records, and use required technology systems confidently
* Sound understanding of duty of care, privacy, WHS, child‐safe standards, and professional boundaries, with consistent compliance across all work practices
* Strong alignment with Blue Sky Community Services' values, including a commitment to diversity, social inclusion, cultural competence, and continuous improvement
About the Local Area Coordination Team
Blue Sky Community Services is delivering the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Local Area Coordination Service (LAC) in partnership with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). Our team provides Local Area Coordination services across the five Local Government Areas of Coffs Harbour, Bellingen, Nambucca Heads, Kempsey and Port Macquarie.
