Hilliard Christian School is seeking a skilled and dedicated Bus Coordinator/Driver to join our team. This part‑time role (average 25‑30 hours per week) is based in West Moonah, Tasmania and will involve coordinating and driving our school bus service, ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of our students.
What you'll be doing
* Coordinating and managing the school's bus transportation services, including scheduling, route planning, and driver supervision.
* Safely operating the school's buses to transport students to and from school, following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
* Performing regular vehicle inspections and maintenance to ensure the buses are in safe and roadworthy condition.
* Communicating effectively with parents, students, and school staff to address any transportation‑related inquiries or concerns.
* Maintaining detailed records of bus usage, student attendance, and any incidents or accidents.
* Assisting with the training and supervision of any relief bus drivers as needed.
What we're looking for
* A current Australian driver's licence (medium rigid), with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and manage multiple transportation schedules.
* A commitment to safety and a proven track record of safe driving practices.
* Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle maintenance, and transportation regulations relevant to the role.
* A demonstrated understanding of the unique needs and requirements of transporting school‑aged children.
