About the Youth Support Mentor Role
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our Transition to Work team as a Youth Support Mentor. In this role, you will provide intensive one-on-one support to job seekers aged 15-25, helping them build skills, overcome barriers, and achieve their employment or education goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide vocational guidance tailored to participants' career and education aspirations.
* Support young people to identify and implement their goals through a personalized Job Plan.
* Assess skills, capabilities, and barriers, and connect participants with specialist support services.
* Facilitate employability workshops, individual and group coaching sessions.
* Support participants with job search activities, volunteering opportunities, and mentoring.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, training providers, and community services.
* Maintain accurate participant records and meet performance and compliance requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* You should have experience in coaching, mentoring, or supporting others to build capacity.
* Skilled in caseload management, with the ability to balance participant needs and program outcomes.
* Confident with administration, reporting, and using digital systems.
* A strong communicator who can build trust, motivate, and inspire young people.
* Adaptable, organized, and able to maintain high professional work standards.
